According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, person familiar with wide receiver Hakeem Nicks’ fractured foot believes that his recovery time will be more like four to six weeks, rather than the 12 weeks that the New York Giants stated.
“Certainly the signs are encouraging that he’ll be out there vs Cowboys for the season opener,” said Schefter via Evan Silva.
This is certainly good news for the Giants and their fans.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the New York Giants won’t trade disgruntled defensive end Osi Umenyiora unless they believe they’ll be able to receive maximum value in return.
“Chances are the Giants will never make a move…unless they believe they are getting max value in return,” said Schefter, per Evan Silva.
I believe there’s no way the Giants will trade Umenyiora unless they know they could get a first round pick in return. The reason I believe he won’t be traded is because there aren’t any teams that will give up a first round pick for Osi. I think he’ll play out his contract with the Giants and become a free agent at the end of this season.
