New York Giants safety Kenny Phillips went down with a sprained knee on Sunday night and head coach Tom Coughlin is hoping that he won’t be out long. At this point though, he doesn’t have a timetable for Phillips’ return.
“Yeah, great concerns,” Coughlin said, per North Jersey.com. “I don’t know what it is about that spot but we’re certainly having a difficult time being able to stay together and stay whole. Give credit to the guys who fought their way through it tonight. I’m sorry Kenny went down. Hopefully we’ll find out that it’s something he can come back from soon. I don’t know that for a fact.”
The Giants defense wasn’t the same without Phillips on the field. The only good news is that Tyler Sash comes back this week after being suspended for the first four weeks for taking PED’s.
